Bad news, Game of Thrones fans. You might have to wait a little longer to watch the show’s final season.
Emilia Clarke has fast become one of the most recognizable faces in the TV world, and the British actress has wowed us both on- and off-screen with her goddess-like beauty. The young actress has more recently become a mainstream name, and it’s more than just good acting skills that have gained her widespread attention.
She rocketed to fame as Daenerys on Game Of Thrones. But Emilia Clarke has admitted it hasn’t all been plain sailing since she joined the hit fantasy drama. The English actress, 30, revealed she has had sleepless nights over filming the final season of GOT.
Posing in a pretty floral D&G corset, Emilia revealed: ‘I get sleepless nights over it’.
And revealing that she is her own harshest critic, she recalls thinking: ‘Oh, you’re gonna mess it up. It’s the last season, and it’s going to go wrong.’
While the release date of season 8 is still up in the air, it’s looking like HBO could potentially delay airing episodes until 2019 due to the ‘complicated’ production schedules the show now requires.
This would be the longest gap there’s ever been between seasons, with the recent season seven only being delayed by a few months from early 2017 to a summer release date. HBO is neither confirming or denying expanding Game Of Thrones production beyond the usual four or five months, but HBO programming boss Casey Bloys has described how David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’s vision for the final season is proving a complex issue. Speaking to THR, Casey said: ‘Our production people are trying to figure out a timeline for the shoot and how much time the special effects take.
While it is unknown whether this’ll affect your viewing experience, Game of Thrones Season 8 will be the first (and final) year wherein Emilia Clarke will dye her hair a Targaryen platinum blonde. Ever since season 1 the “Silver Queen” has had a silvery wig. But Clarke is changing it up for the final season.
Emilia went on to admit the pressure of living up to expectations surrounding her lead character has given her sleepless nights.
She went on to mention that she needs some time off in order to take care of herself and her sleepless nights before she can continue to film GOT.
Her fans are truly disappointed at the possible delay, we can only hope for her to return from her time off sooner rather then later.
